Scripture references: Psalm 46:10
There was a time when my prayers felt like monologues — full of praise, confession, and heartfelt requests, but rarely space for silence. I’d pour out my soul, then move on, never pausing to listen. My husband would often say, “Honey, you’re not letting me get a word in edgewise.” One day, it struck me: I was doing the same with God.
I’d come to Him with gratitude, with longing, with repentance — all beautiful and sincere. But I rarely lingered long enough to hear what He might be whispering back.
Jeanne Guyon, a 16th-century Christian writer, likens prayer to a nursing infant: at first, the child moves his lips in longing, but once grace begins to flow, he rests, nourished in peace. The quieter we become, the more we receive.
Today, let your soul exhale. Make space not just to speak, but to be silent. God is already near — and He longs to share His heart with you.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
